You better hang tight after your first bite, because you're about to experience an out-of-this-world main course that will knock you off your feet! Loaded with rich and creamy yumminess, one taste of this Bleu-You-Away Bake will literally have you soaring through the sky! It's got your classic casserole favorites like long, twisty noodles, juicy, chopped chicken, salty, hearty ham, and gooey, melty cheese, but all with a fancy cordon bleu spin. Make sure you're sitting down when Bleu-You-Away Bake is on your plate, because you never know where it might take you!
Ingredients
- 1 (8-ounce) package wide egg noodles
- 2 cups chicken breast, cooked and chopped
- 8 ounces cooked ham, cubed
- 8 ounces Swiss cheese, cubed
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can reduced-fat, reduced-sodium cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup 2% milk
- 1/2 cup light sour cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/3 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- fresh parsley, optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -Lightly grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
Step 3 -Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
Step 4 -Cook the egg noodles in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until they are tender yet firm to the bite, about 7-9 minutes.
Step 5 -Drain and transfer the noodles to the prepared casserole dish.
Step 6 -Top the noodles with the chicken, the ham, and the Swiss cheese.
Step 7 -Mix the cream of chicken soup, the milk, and the sour cream in a medium bowl until combined.
Step 8 -Spoon the soup mixture over the noodle mixture.
Step 9 -Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Step 10 -Add the breadcrumbs and the parmesan cheese to the butter and cook, while stirring, until the crumbs are well coated, about 2-3 minutes.
Step 11 -Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the casserole.
Step 12 -Bake the casserole until it is bubbling and lightly browned, about 30 minutes.
Step 13 -Transfer the casserole from the oven and allow it to cool for 10 minutes.
Step 14 -Garnish with the parsley and serve.
