Ingredients

1/2 cup butter
1 (16 ounce) package miniature marshmallows
2 tablespoons bourbon
1 teaspoon sea salt
8 cups crispy rice cereal
flaky sea salt, to taste

Directions

Step 1 -Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it is golden brown and has a nutty aroma, about 5 minutes.

Step 2 -Add the marshmallows to the browned butter.

Step 3 -Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally, until marshmallows are melted, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 4 -Stir the bourbon and the sea salt into the marshmallow mixture.

Step 5 -Remove the saucepan from the heat.

Step 6 -Add the rice cereal to the marshmallow mixture, mixing until the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture. Transfer the mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 7 -Place a sheet of parchment paper over the rice cereal mixture and press the mixture into the dish.

Step 8 -Remove the parchment paper and sprinkle flaked sea salt over the top.

Step 9 -Cool the treats to room temperature, at least 30 minutes.
