Bugs Bunny® might love carrots, but he has some other favorites that we are more interested in. Bugs Bunny's Pizza is exactly the kind of dish that people go looney for! Tender, succulent, tangy barbecue chicken is coated with melty, smoky cheeses and sharp red onions atop a golden crust! Slice and share Bugs Bunny's Pizza and watch out for any waskily wabbits who might be prowling around to steal some! It's too good to let go!
Ingredients
- 2 cups chicken, cooked and shredded
- 3/4 cup barbecue sauce, divided
- flour, to taste, for dusting the work surface
- 1 (16-ounce) package refrigerated pizza dough, divided into 2 equal portions
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 medium red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/3 cup Gouda, shredded
- crushed red pepper flakes, optional, to taste
- 2 tablespoons cilantro, freshly chopped, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F.
Step 2 -Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 3 -Grease the parchment paper with cooking spray.
Step 4 -In a medium bowl, add the chicken and 1/4 cup of the barbecue sauce and stir to combine.
Step 5 -Using the flour, lightly dust a work surface.
Step 6 -Turn the pizza dough portions out onto the prepared work surface and roll them out to create two large circles.
Step 7 -Slide 1 of the dough circles onto each of the prepared baking sheets.
Step 8 -Top each of the dough circles evenly with the remaining barbecue sauce. Spread the sauce out evenly, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
Step 9 -Evenly add the chicken mixture to each of the dough circles, spreading it out and leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
Step 10 -Add an even layer of the mozzarella to the dough circles, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
Step 11 -Evenly add the red onions and the Gouda to the dough circles, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
Step 12 -Sprinkle the red pepper flakes over the Gouda layers.
Step 13 -Bake until the cheese is melted and the dough is cooked through, about 20-25 minutes.
Step 14 -Serve garnished with the cilantro.
