Do we need to say anything else other than Buttery Chocolate Chip Cookies? Doesn't the name itself make your mouth start to water with excitement?! It does for us. Now, just picture these warm golden-brown bites filled with melty chocolate chips and crunchy walnuts. Mmm, mmm, mmm. Nothing tops a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie... especially when it's from a batch of these Buttery Chocolate Chip Cookies! Get ready for the sweetest treat ever!
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 (12-ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups walnuts, toasted and coarsely chopped
Directions
Step 1 -In a large bowl, use an electric hand mixer to beat the butter, the brown sugar, and the granulated sugar until blended.
Step 2 -Beat the eggs and the vanilla into the butter mixture.
Step 3 -In a small bowl, whisk the flour, the baking soda, and the salt together.
Step 4 -Gradually beat the flour mixture into the butter mixture.
Step 5 -Stir the chocolate chips and the walnuts into the cookie dough.
Step 6 -Shape the dough into 2-1/2-inch balls and flatten each to 3/4-inch thickness.
Step 7 -Place the dough in an airtight container, separating the layers with wax paper, then refrigerate overnight.
Step 8 -Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 9 -Place the dough 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 10 -Let the dough stand at room temperature for 30 minutes before baking.
Step 11 -Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Step 12 -Bake the cookies, in batches, until the edges are golden-brown, about 10-12 minutes.
Step 13 -Cool the cookies while still on the baking sheets for 2 minutes.
Step 14 -Transfer the cookies to wire racks to completely cool.
Step 15 -Serve.
