Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 5 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 3 tablespoons barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 prepared pie crust, uncooked, store-bought or homemade
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2 -In a skillet, cook the ground beef, the onion, and the bacon until the bacon is crispy and the beef is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 3 -Drain the grease from the skillet.

Step 4 -Remove the skillet from the stovetop.

Step 5 -Add the breadcrumbs, the mustard, the barbecue sauce, the ketchup, the Worcestershire sauce, and the pepper.

Step 6 -Place the prepared pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate and then place the beef mixture into the pie crust.

Step 7 -Combine the cheese, the egg, and the milk in a small bowl.

Step 8 -Spread the egg mixture over the meat mixture.

Step 9 -Cover the pie crust edges with foil to prevent over-browning.

Step 10 -Bake for 15 minutes.

Step 11 -Remove the foil.

Step 12 -Bake uncovered until the pie crust is golden-brown and the cheese topping is bubbly and melty, about 15 minutes.

Step 13 -Allow it to cool.

Step 14 -Serve.
