You always have fresh-cooked pasta when you want it with Quick Baked Spaghetti. This pasta bakes with ground beef and Italian seasoning for a bolognese taste made easy and delicious. Topped with plenty of melty cheese, Quick Baked Spaghetti is always tender, rich, and savory. It’s time to start getting excited for pasta night!
Ingredients
- 16 ounces spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- kosher salt, to taste
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 (28 ounces) can crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup basil, chopped
- 1 cup mozzarella, shredded
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- fresh parsley, optional, chopped, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -Grease a medium baking dish with cooking spray.
Step 3 -Cook the spaghetti according to package directions until al dente.
Step 4 -Drain the pasta and set aside.
Step 5 -In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil.
Step 6 -Add the onions and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
Step 7 -Stir in the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Step 8 -Add the ground beef.
Step 9 -Season with the salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Step 10 -Cook until the beef is no longer pink, about 8 minutes.
Step 11 -Drain the fat in a bowl lined with paper towels, then return it to the pan.
Step 12 -Pour in the crushed tomatoes and basil.
Step 13 -Simmer until the mixture is slightly reduced, about 10 minutes.
Step 14 -Season with more salt and pepper to taste.
Step 15 -Toss the sauce with the spaghetti.
Step 16 -Transfer the pasta to the prepared baking dish.
Step 17 -Top the pasta with the mozzarella and parmesan.
Step 18 -Bake until the cheese is melted and the pasta is warmed through, about 20 minutes.
Step 19 -Garnish with parsley and serve.
