Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar, divided
  • 1 tablespoon toasted wheat germ
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup brickle toffee bits

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 2 -In a large bowl, add the butter, 1 cup of the sugar, and the wheat germ and beat until it is light and fluffy, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 3 -Add the molasses and the egg and beat to combine.

Step 4 -In a separate bowl, add the flour, the baking soda, the cinnamon, the ginger, the salt, and the cloves and whisk to combine.

Step 5 -Gradually beat the flour mixture into the butter mixture until just combined.

Step 6 -Fold in the toffee bits.

Step 7 -Shape the dough into 1 1/2-inch balls.

Step 8 -Roll the dough balls in the remaining sugar.

Step 9 -Place the sugared dough balls 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.

Step 10 -Bake until set, about 9-11 minutes.

Step 11 -Cool the cookies on the sheets for 2 minutes.

Step 12 -Transfer the cookies to wire racks to cool completely.

Step 13 -Serve.
