Don't be alarmed when you fall deeply in love with this pasta. In fact, we named this dish You're-The-One Fettuccine because every time someone new tried the perfect, al dente noodles in the creamy, cheesy sauce, they exclaimed they would never cook another type of pasta dish ever again! Love can do some pretty crazy things to a fella! So, we're just warning you... once you enjoy your single serving of You're-The-One Fettuccine, be prepared for a lifetime commitment to making it!
Ingredients
- 2 ounces fettuccine
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/3 cup half-and-half
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- dried parsley, to taste
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- cayenne pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
Directions
Step 1 -In a large pot of salted, boiling water, cook the fettuccine to al dente, according to the package directions.
Step 2 -Drain the water and return the fettuccine to the pot.
Step 3 -When the fettuccine is almost finished cooking, in a small pot over medium heat, melt the butter.
Step 4 -Stir the half-and-half, the garlic powder, the dried parsley, the salt, the pepper, and the cayenne into the melted butter and cook until it is steaming.
Step 5 -Reduce the heat to low.
Step 6 -Stir the parmesan into the sauce mixture and cook, stirring constantly, until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth.
Step 7 -Season the sauce with the salt and the pepper, as needed, and stir to combine.
Step 8 -Pour the sauce over the cooked fettuccine and toss to coat.
Step 9 -Let the fettuccine mixture sit until the sauce has slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
Step 10 -Serve the fettuccine mixture garnished with more of the parsley and more of the cayenne.
