About
Isn't it funny how certain smells can take you right back to a moment in time? Well, the aroma that exudes from these Yummy Baked Apples is one that takes us back to our elementary school days, visiting our local apple orchard. It was truly the best day of the school year! We were always so excited to bring our apple collection home to mom, knowing that dessert that evening would be something very special. With the tender baked apples branching out into a delightful melted field of sugar and cinnamon harmony, we simply could not wait for this season of dessert! But you don't have to wait for the orchards to open up. Hop on the bus and get these Yummy Baked Apples on the road to your after-dinner, or anytime really, dessert experience. Take it from us, these will be the best dessert of the year!

Step 5 -Sprinkle the lemon juice over the coated apples, add the walnuts, and toss until well-coated.
Step 6 -Transfer the apple mixture, including all of the sugar and juices, into the prepared baking dish and then evenly dot the top of the apple mixture with the butter pieces.
Step 7 -Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil, transfer to the oven and stir every 15 minutes, baking until the apples are tender when pierced with a fork, about 60 minutes.
Step 8 -Transfer the baked apples from the oven to a wire rack to cool, about 5 minutes.
Step 9 -In individual serving bowls, add the baked apples and serve with the vanilla ice cream.
